That cover for the upcoming Death Walks dvd box set is gorgeous. It so perfectly captures that particular type of film and the time and place it originated from. Sigh.

In other giallo news, Curt at The Groovy Age of Horror has written an enlightening essay describing his take on the giallo and the particular point of view he feels the genre is trying to convey. It’s probably the best writing on the subject in general that I have come across, in print or online.

For my favourite writing on more specific gialli, I turn to Sylvain L. of Killing in Style, who reports on his evening with director Alan Lado. I recently had an opportunity to watch Lado’s Short Night of Glass Dolls so this was particularly exciting for me. It’s a terrific look behind-the-scenes at the politics within the Italian film community which helped shape these films.
