glitter“What part of her anatomy is she going to kill us with?”

Stacie Ponder, the proprietor of the fine horror blog Final Girl, has once again pulled my head out of the clouds and reminded me of one of the things that truly matters in this world; namely Leprechaun 4: Leprechaun in Space. Many years ago a large number of us attended Leper-Con, an alternative to St. Patrick’s Day inebriation that instead involved the consumption of all the Leprechaun movies released up to that time. The genius of the Leprechaun series is that it is the one franchise that actually gets better with each installment, up to and including the fourth in the series. Though it’s fallen on rough times since, rest assured that Stacie is 100% accurate in describing Leprechaun 4 as one of the most entertaining films ever made.

Stacie has already weighed in on Leprechaun 4’s many merits (including some interesting stuff I never noticed in my half-dozen viewings of this film), so I won’t repeat them. However, she did leave out probably my favourite scene in the movie; one which caused the entire audience at Leper-Con to gasp in complete awe. In the middle of a Mexican standoff between the Leprechaun and the Space Marines, the Space Princess, played by Rebekah Carlton, unclasps her top and bares her glittery breasts for seemingly no reason whatsoever. We must have rewound and played that part a dozen times, trying to decipher exactly why she chose to whip them out at that crucial moment. Finally, having given up our attempt to understand this completely gratuitous piece of nudity, we watched the remainder of the scene. It was only then that an explanation was forthcoming. I won’t ruin it here, but needless to say this scene, like the rest of the movie, is well worth your time and comes with my highest recommendation.

I remember the breast-bearing scene, but only because I was asleep and all of you guys shouting woke me up.

The Lord only knows, the magic that I missed out on!

Leprechaun 4 is the only installment (of what I’m sure is a stellar series), that I’ve watched. It was only last summer so I remember the breast-bearing scene very well and could probably sculpt a full scale replica of them from memory.

just like karissa, i fell asleep during leprechaun 4 and woke up to nuno shouting.

This excites me!
