Now You’re Cooking With Gas
Contrary to popular opinion, Archie comics are home to much more then recipes and homoeroticism. Occasionally the Riverdale gang will attempt to impart knowledge upon their impressionable fans, such as in the 2-page laff riot entitled “Now You’re Cooking With Gas.”
While waiting for Betty to finish cooking their dinner, Archie ponders what food would taste like if it wasn’t cooked. Oblivious to his friends’ disinterest in the topic of eating raw meat, Archie presses on with a concise history of Mankind’s achievements in barbecueing. In the end, Archie’s attempts to cause his friends to lose their appetite fail, as Jughead yanks an entire pizza right right out of Betty’s hands and engulfs it it in record time.
Once again, Archie Comics fufill their mandate to provide scintillating facts about the real-world, sandwiched somewhere between their usual cross-dressing misadventures and depictions of teens stuffed in bikinis.
