Just watched the episode of Inside The Actors Studio with Dave Chappelle. It’s probably the funniest and most honest interview, and definitely the best episode of the show, I’ve ever seen. The advice and truisms from Chappelle aren’t just for people who want to be performers, they’re for life in general.

And yeah, it does have heartfelt moments, and wisdom, and insight, and all that other gay stuff. But it’s also funny as hell. There are even parts where James Lipton breaks in some comedic chops… and, for once, he doesn’t look like a pretentious kiss-ass doin’ it. At one point, Chappelle even makes him get up and bust out some old school ballet moves. And the crowd went apeshit. I think that’s one of the signs of a great performer. He doesn’t just make himself look good. He makes everyone around him look like a star.

Ok. We all know that the whole Santa thing is a myth perpetrated on us by our devious parents. It’s right up there with all the other lies we were told as children. Things like the Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy, and White Jesus. But I think some of us would still like to believe in something. If you want to re-capture your childhood and send a letter to someone, who better to send it to than Christopher Walken.

My favorite on that page, other than the one pictured above, is the Noah from NY letter.

I know blogs are about discussing new information, but I want to try something out. I figure that, maybe once a month, I would post about an old internet site from the past that was funny as hell or really huge for a time, but that we’ve forgotten about. Sort of like an internet nostalgia thing. For this first installment, I decided to go with a classic from a few years back.

I haven’t viewed this site for a long time, then, recently for no reason, I loaded it up out of the blue. It still kicks my ass to this day. If you haven’t seen it for awhile, it’ll remind you right away why you loved it. If you’ve never seen it, here’s your chance to discover greatness. What can I really say about it. T-shirt hell just got a jump on the Christmas holiday blues with a couple new shirts and some totally sweet wrapping paper. Nothing tells your family that you love them more than wrapping paper which instructs them on how to properly end it all.

Hate has been my best friend since 3rd grade when he made me eat paste. That is until I found Lewis Black. Winner of the 2001 American Comedy Awards, Lewis is as angry and animated as he is poignant and intelligent. With a keen eye for the common sense of issues, Lewis Black is the kind of comedian that makes you say “oh yeah, now that makes sense” as much as “bwahahahahaha!”

But don’t let his frenetic gesticulations fool you. His words are acidic, but he has a heart of gold. This Yale graduate spends as much time pointing out the stupidity of the system as he does volunteering his time to help people less fortunate. Hell’s kitchen is where he spends much of his free time helping children there learn how to act and write their own plays. As well, he has helped many new talents a chance by giving them the spotlight in his theatre in Manhattan.

Black follows in the ornery footsteps of such comics as George Carlin and Bill Hicks, pointing out the stupidity of humanity with the simplest of solutions. In the words of one critic, “his anger level hits about 8 on the television shows he makes appearances on. But it can hit 15 in his live act!” Lewis Black is a truly brilliant comedian who’s raw and witty comments can leave you reeling with the simplicity of the solutions they offer.
